Shanghai-kunming railway is an east-west railway line connecting Shanghai and kunming, yunnan province. The shanghai-kunming railway starts from Shanghai south railway station and ends at kunming railway station, with a total length of 2,633 kilometers (the length of the main line after the transformation), and the whole line is the national grade I double-line electrified railway.
The shanghai-kunming railway is composed of four railways: shanghai-hangzhou railway, zhejiang-jiangxi railway, hunan-guizhou railway and gui-kunming railway. (as required by the sixth railway acceleration, it was officially merged on December 31, 2006.) It is an important route from the southwest to Shanghai and one of the main railway lines in China.
